Megan knew what the pulling sensation meant in her heart more than she knew it in her head. It felt like home, it felt good, it felt promising, but after the craziness of being tossed back in time, for all she knew she was being tossed back into some prehistoric game of tag with a T-Rex. Though it had been a long time since she tiptoed to her parent's room in the middle of the night, tonight she couldn't resist. She was scared and though she liked to pretend she was sixteen to get to 'play with the big kids,' as she called it, now she felt closer to six.
She knocked once softly on her parents door, then slowly opened it. Her mother was, as she expected, asleep, but her father was laying in bed awake with a book. The scene looked so familiar from her own childhood, but at the moment she was both standing in the doorway and curled up in her mother's tummy, which just felt strange. She was going home and the thought both scared and thrilled her, and for the life of her she couldn't think of how to break the news to them.
"Daddy?" She whispered, her voice barely above a whisper. "Daddy, something's going on."
