"Doesn't matter who the soul belongs to," Xander responded, "it's twisted up all the same. Doesn't make it reliable, now does it?" Xander already knew that he had no intention of physically harming Anya. If he had to resort to a takedown in order to sneak away a set of keys or something of that level for his escape, then he would gladly do as much. But kill? No. Never. "Come inside. It's nice and cozy in here."
"You could let me go," Xander stated, "you all think I'm the big bad guy now, might as well toss me to the curb now. No one'll make the mistake of trusting me again."
Not so soon anyway. He'd have to figure out a way to fix that and fast.
