He almost interrupted her to say that there were better people to learn from. Lindsey had started out with a teacher but become self-taught after he'd put his plans into motion. Maybe it would change in the future, but he couldn't see himself being patient enough to guide her through complex spells.
He did agree with the future version of Cathy when it came to a normal childhood. It gave Izzy the chance to grow up right, without the influences on her that could lead her towards a path similar to the one he'd taken.
"There's nothing wrong with being normal," he said firmly. "That and normal isn't as normal as you think. Anyone can get charged up. It takes a strong someone to be this so-called normal when everyone else isn't. They're someone to be reckoned with because they don't need it."
