"My money is on me exorcising that demon before it gets a chance to even try anything that would potentially harm either of us," Sam responded. It was easier to come up with these witty responses when they were all just playing the battle of conversation. Words. They were all words. Sam honestly didn't know what he would do if he was thrown into a situation like that. It was no secret that he and Tenel Ka had shared their differences in the past, but Sam would have liked to think that he had accepted enough and moved on to avoid letting any of that instinct of his from using that as some sort of twisted reasoning to make it all okay. He would resist.
The Tenel Ka remark was not taken seriously. Sam believed that she would be clever enough to stay out of harms way. Even though we weren't, he thought angrily, hands twisting in desperation for freedom. It was the statement about Faith that sparked that extreme wave of uncertainty within him. "Where is she? What did you do to her?"
Eve was leaning in closer. If only she would dare move in a bit closer than that. Sam would have headbutted her. "Jacen is right. Like I said before: you're wasting your time. On both of us." Sam looked to him for verification. They were both gonna fight through this.
