"Nice to meet you too," he said as he held the game device at his side. He still wasn't sure about using his first or last name here. There were concerns about safety. As well as not knowing everything about what was going on. All he wanted to find out was if his father was indeed here. Just knowing he was here would be the first step, then he'd worry about actually finding a way to contact him without endangering either of them, as well as everyone else. And that wasn't even counting the emotional reactions upon meeting each other. This was so complicated. But of course, time displacement issues never could be simple.
He laughed, then turned a bit more serious, when Fred asked about smell. "Well.. yes. I was in a sewer before coming here. I was in 2020. But when I came back up, I was here. Running.. from a demon. No nine-year-old should ever see that, trust me. I hope he didn't follow me here. They can't.. do that, right? Follow if close enough?" He glanced around nervously. "People show up, it's just.. them. They don't bring anyone else here with them? It's just, that thing was scary. I think only a few seconds, and I wouldn't have lost him. I've never had *that* close a call before in my life."
