Faith squeezed Sam's hand slightly when he admitted that he wasn't handling it all in the best way. Really, she was proud of how well he was handling it. He could have run, hidden out at some bar, gone into complete denial that it was even happening. He was here and he was trying and that was the main thing as far as she was concerned. There were still so many unanswered questions attached to all of this, things she was afraid to know. She could guess that even as a mother she still patrolled but was it the same? Would she turn out like Nikki Wood, putting the calling in front of her own son? She hated the idea of dying in the line of duty like that, leaving Sam and Michael on their own, just as Robin had been left with Nikki's Watcher. She'd seen how much that had messed him up. But then equally the idea of giving up her life, even with all the dangers attached, was terrifying.
And that was before she even went into the fear of being a mother in the first place.
"We're here," she agreed with Sam's statement. "I mean we're family. A weird, time displaced family," she smirked ruefully. "So you need anything, then we're here to help you." She glanced at Sam, almost grinning. "Besides, if we weren't you just know future us would find a way to come back and yell and I do not want to end up having an argument with myself."
