"That's nothing new," Michael commented, flashing Faith a warm smile. "You do that stuff in the future too. Dad does, Uncle Dean does...it's kinda a family thing." Michael sometimes wondered if he was supposed to get into things the way that they did as well. He already had a set mind on making sure that he played his part in keeping his family safe from the monsters that were always giving them a hard time, why not go out and do all the rest? His father always went on and on about how he could be whoever and whatever he wanted to be if he tried hard enough, but Michael wasn't so sure on what he could be if he wasn't like everyone else. "I might when I'm older. Maybe."
Sam tensed at that, casting Faith a dark look. He didn't appear to be a fan of the idea of anyone that claimed to be his future child taking in the mindset of a hunting obligation. He didn't think he'd raise his kid to be that way. Not like the way his father had. He slid his hand under the table, palm coming to a rest at Faith's knee. He gave it a squeeze and bit back every last remark he had about the family business discussion.
"We should talk about what's going on here," he finally decided, believing it was more than a good time to get the ball rolling on the important matters; that being, of course, how all of this was going to work. "Starting with how this staying with us routine is going to work out. You're perfectly welcome to be here, Michael, but you've got to remember that this is a different time and there are things going on that you aren't used to. You have to be really careful about what you say to people, especially in regards to the future."
