Tara hesitated, staring at his hand for a moment, a slight flash of apprehension passing over her features. Taking his hand could be very stupid and for some reason her mind had a quick image of Giles rubbing his glasses at her doing so. Which was ridiculous, since Giles' glasses being dirty had nothing to do with taking the had of a complete stranger, that she could tell, even by sitting down was taller than her. Not just because she was sitting down but because he was actually taller than her. And definitely stronger than her. And while she knew a few spells to get out of a jam, she really didn't want to use them.
However, Tara knew that she wouldn't like someone suspecting that she had nefarious purposes, even though she wouldn't blame them. Ever. Not with her life. Still, after that moment of hesitation, she took his hand. Her butt had been starting to hurt. "Thank you." She said, and when she stood up, she turned to look at him, hesitating another moment. She didn't want to lie but she couldn't very well say vampires. Could she? No, not really. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you." She had a feeling he'd ask why, but maybe he'd get it and would just leave it at that. Maybe, but that was doubtful from what she'd seen so far. Nevertheless, a few words exchanged in conversation didn't make her a predictor of his personality. So maybe he would.
