A small voice in her head pointed out this was the same thing he'd tried to do before, push her back because she deserved 'better' than a 'broken' man, but she ignored it because this wasn't about serving that back. And in the end, she didn't want Dean to go, but she didn't want him to be hurt because of her need to punish Sylar.
Folding her arms around herself, cold on the inside, not out, Claire stared up at him with dry eyes as her body shook with sobs again.
"You wanted Alastair to pay for things he actually did, but you didn't ever go that far," she said haltingly. "You wanted to be better than him and so you just killed him. I don't want to kill him."
And she didn't. That was ABC's, just like the worst of the pain inflicting would be ABC's. She didn't want Sylar to feel her pain and fear, she just wanted him to feel pain.
"I want to torture him," she said, the words having just the faintest edge of pleading to them, still needing him to understand, "I want to use it all on him and he wasn't even the one who did it all. That he's a Sylar that killed Nathan is enough."
"I want to punish him for things he didn't do and that's morally wrong and I can't even care."
