It had been over an hour since Natalie had stopped posting to the boards because Megan had come out of the shower. Again. Natalie was pretty sure it had been at least her third, all because Megan said the room just felt dirty. They'd been here almost twenty-four hours and not seen anyone since Ben, at least not until Natalie and made herself a fake account and logged onto the message boards, but Natalie was already tired of this place. It was smelly, to her, and there had been a bug. The bug had been outside the window, but still, it had been a big bug to a little girl! In reality, the motel was one of the best in L.A. for being a motel. In her father and uncle's day, this sort of motel would probably have been a rare treat, being as clean and well-equipped as it was and in such a prime real estate location, but to two family-house-raised girls, it was dingy and terrible. Sighing heavily, Natalie glanced at the laptop again. It was Ben's – Ben had pretty much everything because he'd had his car come with him – and he'd left it for them as entertainment while he went out shopping. He'd said no boards, but Natalie missed her parents and had just wanted to see them. Once she'd seen Ben tell people who he was and all the things she had been told not to do, listening to Ben had lost its appeal. And on there, she'd found her dad and uncle and other people... and maybe told more things than she was supposed to, even if they'd been confused. But she'd had to close the boards quickly and now her dad was probably worried. She should just tell Megan and log back on. "Meggy?" But before she could voice her question, the door was unlocked and then swung open, revealing Ben and a variety of clothing store, grocery story and takeout bags hanging form or held in his arms. "Okay, guys, I got everything," he said, moving into the room to dump the bags on the bed so he could check all the salt lines again before locking the door. "If anything doesn't fit, stack it on the desk and I'll take it back. The cards ran, so we should be good to go until I figure out how to get us back." Rather than inspect the bags, Natalie scowled at Ben. He'd lied, after all, about the numbers not working and that was really, really sucky. The stubborn, indignant chin went up, just like her mother, and she put her hands on her hips. Classic Natalie lecture pose. "Why can't we just call them so they can help us? He said nothing bad was gonna happen if we did!" Oops. The words slipped out before Natalie realized her error, but then, her brain to mouth filter had never been the best. Came with being a Winchester and her mother's daughter. |
