Virgil had always been stable like a rock when it came to rules, and being good and standing for things that were just. He didn't enforce them on Bart, he didn't try to tell him the difference between good and bad, or judge him at all. He just naturally did good, didn't have to try hard not to break the rules, and Bart seemed to follow. To his pleasant surprise. He'd learned about Bart's history, but he didn't have a single reason to doubt him. Ever since he'd known him, Bart hadn't once even leaned toward temptation. It made him feel warm and good, knowing that just maybe he had a hand in Bart's decisions, and meant something to him without words.
His thumb brushed affectionately over Bart's cheek for a moment as his eyes locked onto the others. "I'm always gonna stay with you." and his hand slid away gently, his cheek leaning against Bart's shoulder as he closed his eyes half way and leaned against him in a drowsy stouper. His hand found Bart's, and balled in it gently. "Can't get rid of me that easily.."Soft humor. It felt like time was standing still and he wouldn't have it any other way.
