"Easier on her?" she repeated before catching herself, and promptly shutting her mouth. That was fine, she tried to tell herself. Her parents obviously hadn't expected to have a kid, at least, not yet, so it was bound to be a big surprise to both of them now that she had shown up unannounced. Had she been a few years older, she might have even understood that it was nothing personal.
Izzy allowed him to guide her out of the library and toward the truck, recognizing the vehicle immediately. It was reassuring, to see that some things were still the same after all. She couldn't wait to see Reb.
That sparked another thought.
"Reb's just a puppy, isn't he?!" she thought aloud, brightening. "He's getting pretty old. When I'm from?" In spite of herself, she grinned just thinking about her canine partner in crime. "The best dog around."
