Fred scooped the two mugs off the counter and held one out to Trish. "I brought out milk and sugar if you want either," she said, nodding towards the bowl and the container. It occurred to her, moments later, that maybe she should've offered something to go with it. Like donuts. Did they have donuts?
"Not usually. Unless we know ahead of time that we're going to be handling something very dangerous, we usually don't need them. Demonology books are remarkabley sturdy. I have a theory that their authors knew what they'd be up against so they made sure they were up to withstanding the wear and tear of the field." She shook her head. "No hairnets either. We're kind of..." She paused, mulling over the right words.
"We're very protective of the books and the information contained therein, especially with Wolfram and Hart lurking around. But we don't have protocol in using them." There. That sounded right. "Except never use them as coasters, tear out pages, or otherwise destroy them or mark them up."
