“You sure about this, Winchester?”
Dean turned from where he was blowing up what had to be the millionth balloon, and looked to where Tony was standing. Jack was holding a small, bright shiny ring that was responsible for the contents of Dean’s personal savings dropping to pennies. Granted, he had enough money to live on until payday, and had just deposited a sizeable amount into Ben’s savings account, but the ring had still been a large investment.
“It’s sure a lot better than the bolt was. What the hell were you thinking, giving a girl like that a greasy hunk off of your car?” That was Tony, the pimple faced kid who thought that weird Japanese cars with unpronounceable names were the coolest machines on the road. Dean knew he’d never get it.
“Yeah, I’m sure.” After rolling his eyes at Tony, Dean took the ring back from Jack and carefully tucked it into the purple balloon. It was the only one in the package that was purple, and probably a fluke among the other multicolored red, white, blue and green balloons. He knew he was taking a huge chance doing this, especially with something worth so much money, but it just felt right. Other items, such as Claire’s keyboard mouse, a mousepad, and even the cordless phone on her desk, had been put into huge, thick balloons and blown up. Dean tossed the purple balloon into the mass of balloons in her office and surveyed their handiwork. In a short amount of time, he had transformed Claire’s office into a room crammed full of ballons…with just a little bit of help from the other guys in the shop.
They all loved Saturdays. Ralph never came into Saturdays, and things were always a bit more lax around the shop. However, this Saturday was going to be one of the most exceptional ever. Whistling, he went back into the shop and waited on Claire to arrive.
