Castiel was agreeing that she should go, and quickly, and for a few seconds she held his gaze much as she wasn't sure she wanted to do so. She would go. She would go quickly. She wasn't afraid of the Slayer showing up but didn't relish the thought of what would inevitibly happen. She'd gotten the one punch she deserved to take. Any further attack Ruby would fight back. Hostility was fine but Faith had always displayed an inability to leave it just at that.
"I won't be anywhere near the place by then" she replied cooly.
She should never have lingered. But maybe Dean would be dead if she hadn't. And much as he'd been a pain in her ass for as long as she'd known him, and as much as so many things would have been easier back home without his return from hell she didn't want that.
She was about to turn and leave when Claire walked toward her knife in hand and Ruby tensed slightly, Claire was family to the people she'd hurt, would apparently be so in name sooner rather than later. She had as much right to hate her as any of them and now she had her knife. Of course she'd fight her if she needed to as well. She knew what she'd done to them, to all of them, but she wasn't about to die for it. She'd made her peace with the fact that that wasn't what she needed to do to try and find her way back from whatever darkness she considered normal before she'd had Castiel. Before she'd had friends and before she'd thrown it all away on a hope.
"It shouldn't, and its not even close to even" she replied calmly hiding the bitterness as best she could and instead taking the knife and nodding a brief response to the thanks, any more than that would have been insulting. She took a moment to slide the knife back into its sheath on her belt and looked just for a moment from Claire to Dean, still more confused by them than anything else and with a final casting of her gaze to Castiel, one filled with even more confusion Ruby left the mall, moving as quickly and stealthily as any demon.
