Claire didn't even hear the words, barely noted Castiel's presence other than to note that it was someone who wasn't a threat. Her attention was on the healing – and distantly on Dean's blood-loss rambling. Her blood healed, it was healing now, but the rate at which it healed was dependent on how it was administered. When it went into the proper vein on the arm, it flowed up to the heart and the heart pumped it out into the body. Healing took little time.
But this, pouring her blood into a wound as blood poured back out again, it was like pitting two waterfalls against each other. It was healing the tissue all around and inside the bullet wound cavity, but it wasn't making it through his body this way--
Married. Huh? Marry me? What?! Like on a delay, the words she'd heard distantly finally impressed on her mind, a moment before Dean screamed and passed out. While she hadn't snarled and attacked Ruby for initially touching Dean, she had to fight the urge to do so now out of some primal protective instinct. She wasn't trying to hurt him, she was trying to help. Not hurting, helping. Ruby.
Claire knew she couldn't really be affected for long by her own blood loss, unless it was severe, but she was beginning to wonder if maybe she was now, because Ruby was helping and Dean was possibly proposing and her goddamned blood wasn't doing anything fast enough. And there were extra hands, hands pushing her away, hands stopping her from helping Dean, hands touching Dean.
Helping Dean. Healing Dean.
Ping. As the skin mended, the bullet slid out of the wound. One bullet. Only one bullet, this wouldn't go fast enough they way she'd been forced to do it.
It was the only reason she backed down and let Castiel take over her job. He could heal Dean faster. Letting out a small sound, she dropped her hands to her lap, one hand still clutching the knife, and watched. And listened. Dean was coming out of it again, and he wouldn't shut up about – had he really proposed? Really?
Ping.
Of course not, he was Dean, the only reason it likely had come out was because he was on the verge of bleeding to death moments ago. It was delirious rambling, rambling she needed to find a way to halt so he'd rest.
Ping.
"Yes, yes, now shut up," she said severely, wanting him quiet and still while Castiel did this, wanting this done absolutely right without a hitch.
