The urge to hit him had pretty much gone away by then. There was no doubt that it had been something in her you could easily see. She was an incredibly open book at times. And other times not. Such as when Hunter made her feel like an idiot. That was something she tried extremely hard not to show on her face. She knew he probably didn't mean it. He did know more than her, after all, but that didn't make it feel any better. "It's okay, I guess," she said, "You do know more than me anyway, so it's understandable. And I know your worried about me..." She was half tempted to add 'but you don't need to be'. But that would have been a lie. Morgan wasn't as invincible as she thought herself to be. She went into her relationship with Cal that way and look what had happened as a result. She almost died. Hunter probably didn't pity her in the slightest about loving Cal. That would make sense, wouldn't it?
She didn't want to think about that, though. Not now. She would say that she never wanted to think about it again, but that would never happen. Try as she might to push Cal from her mind, he'd come back sooner or later. Hopefully later. Those were thoughts that she would have to hide behind a serious expression of her own.
"Right..." It made her think about if Hunter actually knew the definition of fun. Morgan mentally shrugged, tucking the thought away for another time and another place. "Um, yeah, it probably would. Not exactly the happiest topic in the world." She finished the glass of diet Coke and, of course, the cup of tea still sat there completely untouched. "Okay," she replied simply. If they were waiting for the sun to come out, they'd probably be waiting for a long time. Seeing that he'd held out his hand, she took it to stand and then let go just as quickly. "Lead the way."
