She knew that she could have hurt him badly. Could have killed him, even. Back home, she likely would have wanted to for saying all of those terrible things about Cal. She'd thrown a dagger at him before, for Christ sake. But now, Morgan had no desire to do that. There was no reason to. Not anymore. She'd found out now that Cal had only wanted to use her. It hurt...so badly and yet she couldn't make herself not love him. Even so, she wouldn't do any of the things she had done to Hunter before. Not now. Not anymore. God, how could she have been so stupid?
"Not the first time, no. But now I know you aren't, so there's no reason to say you are." She was unaware of how much he really feared her. Her own power and how well she'd taken to it as a beginner she knew well, but it didn't occur to her that these things instilled a such fear in Hunter. Even though she had the potential to be, Morgan wasn't a monster. From the way he looked at her, even though he tried to hide it by keeping cool, she could tell that there was some fear of her there. But she'd promised that she wouldn't hurt him. Though, it was easy to see why he wouldn't trust that considering the things that had happened between them back in Widow's Vale. It shocked her as well that she could say these things so openly, but the words had to be said. "He tried to...he tried to burn me alive in his pool house..." The images of those events were still burned vividly into the back of her mind.
His reply confused her. What did he mean he'd been gone for days? "Wait, are you saying you don't remember that happening? I saw you. You were there just before I got here. With Robbie and Bree and Sky. You all came to save me." This didn't make sense at all. "You didn't disappear. You were there the entire time...but does that mean the same force that brought you here brought me here too?"
