"No," Sam admitted, smiling faintly. "Not so scary at all." The only scary thing now was the idea of her bolting up and running for the door. Sam kissed her gently once more before he eased back and settled onto his pillow quietly. They had kissed. She was okay with kissing. Sam wasn't going to deliver them to an excess, but it was something that he wouldn't be horrifyingly terrified of doing in the future. No doubt he would be hesitant, but if she was allowing it now, why would she choose to change her mind later?
Unless she really did get to thinking about what he had done and did realize how stupid it was to take him back into her life.
Sam hoped not. He hoped that Faith was already aware and was okay with the fact. How she could ever be, he didn't know, but he wanted her to somehow accomplish it. Somehow.
"Thank you." He kept his arm around her. Now that he had it there, he really was afraid to pull away. "For coming here tonight.You didn't have to."
