WHO: Faith Lehane and Sam Winchester WHAT: It's been a couple of weeks. Maybe it's time they tried that seeing each other thing again. WHEN: 13th July, early evening WHERE: The Winchester house RATING: TBD STATUS: In progress
Taking things one step at a time was hard. Faith knew she still loved Sam, loved him a hell of a lot even after what he'd done. But the trust still needed to be rebuilt, something that would take time. There was no quick fix, something that frustrated the impatient Slayer no end. She wanted everything to just be better, be back to normal, now dammit.
But the truth was, it was her holding things back. Because it had to be that way. After breaking her trust like that, any quick fix would just be a false promise, leaving things more broken in the long run.
It was possibly a sign she was growing as a person that she realized that. Being mature sucked.
Still, seeing him again, that was a good thing. A step towards healing, or so she hoped. She hoped it would get a bit easier, make even a little bit of the unnatural and unpleasant tension between them go away and help them get back to being able to talk like best friends again. It hadn't even been this tense after the Apocalypse and her brief death at Sam's hands. And at that time she hadn't even been sure Sam would ever speak to her again. So it was a relief when she got a message from Sam, asking for her to come over.
Faith was slightly apprehensive as she made her way to the Winchester house. The truth was, ever since getting together with Sam she avoided parts of that house. She spent time in the living room definitely, playing games with Ben for the most part, or just chilling out with the family, more than she had in the past. But the bedroom, the room Sam had once shared with Heather, just felt slightly off to her. And she'd always made her excuses to stay downstairs, sleeping at the Hyperion with the excuse of patrols to cover things up.
But, in his bedroom was where Sam seemed to be spending most of his time, so that's where Faith had to go. After a quick hello to the others in the house, she made her way upstairs, hesitating a moment before finally knocking on Sam's bedroom door.
