She kept saying it to him, but Sam was having a hard time understanding. If he wasn't the strong one, who was going to be? Someone had to. Someone had to save them all. He wasn't going to be the worlds greatest protector and that was fine, but if he couldn't protect his own family then what good was he? What was the point?
There was that, at least. Faith wanted to believe him. It was far better than her downright saying that she couldn't no matter what he did. Looking eager, Sam nodded. He didn't know what he was going to have to do or how he was going to have to do it, but the fact of the matter was that he was more than willing to do whatever it took to win her over again. To gain Faith's trust back. To give her reason to love him. He'd do it. It was just the how that needed figuring.
"I will," Sam decided. "I'll make you see that it's real. I swear I will."
He slumped back, eyes closing. Sam was still pretty worn through from the detoxing. But he'd do whatever it took. That was a promise.
