So it had happened before they even got together. Faith had sort of suspected, but having it confirmed still stung. She drew her knees up and rested her head forwards, taking a deep, if shuddery breath.
"I keep saying it to you, you don't need to be the strong one all the time, don't have to save everyone. No one can do that."
God, he sounded sincere, sounded like he believed what he was saying. Maybe it was the truth, Faith didn't even know.
"I believe that you believe it at the moment," she answered carefully. "Anything else can only be proven or not with time. I want to believe you, so so much. But it's going to need time. You gotta prove it, somehow."
Not that she knew how he could. Which was equally as frustrating.
