Faith felt as though she'd held her breath from the moment he started talking, the image he was describing coming easily in her mind. Her breath actually hitched slightly as he took her hand, part of her relishing in the feel of his touch again and the other part horrified by the vivid picture.
In some ways she'd been right, about a few of the details. Knowing that didn't give her any kind of satisfaction.
But she'd made her choice already and she wasn't going back on that. She wasn't going to walk away now, not when she'd promised to give him another chance. Knowing more about the past wasn't going to change her mind.
"You felt like a god," she murmured, reaching out hesitantly to brush her fingers over the hand he held over his heart. "So what did you do, when you felt all godlike? Train with your powers? Hunt?" She looked up, keeping her face as calm as she could as she looked at him. "Is there anything else I need to know?"
