The dull was not what Claire had been trying for, but it was still talking, which she could work with. Dropping the deliberate attempts to get a response from Faith by choosing overly harsh things to say, she just focused on her own opinions.
"He deserves to lose you, he deserves to lose anyone he's hurt so he knows what he's put them through," she said, and then the bitterness was fully there and wholly genuine, and it was still harsh because it hurt. Claire might not be the cheated on girlfriend or the blood family who'd been but through so much, but Sam had made her feel part of his family, said she was, and did this, and insult to injury was not knowing if he'd meant any of it.
"Maybe he deserves more, I don't know. But you want to know what I do know?" she continued, turning to face Faith. "That you don't deserve the way you're tearing yourself down."
