Castiel shook his head at her choice of words. "Don't say you lost him, lost is too passive. Lost is what the Winchesters, what Faith can claim. You, you destroyed him. It was active. You created the monster."
The monster. He had a talent for it, for hurting. All those deaths recently, the work of a being with such cruelty inside of them. The realization struck Castiel.
"It was you. Both of you. Burning down that bar, but also further back. The vigilante. The one even Faith was hunting. What did you do, Ruby? Frame someone else? You created a monster and unleashed him from his cage."
It was twisted. Wrong on so many levels.
"I know what happens to failures in hell. Because Lucifer has no room in his being for compassion or forgiveness." He tilted his head as if looking at a stranger for the very first time, not the woman he loved. "Do you think they will forgive you? Dean and John. Do you think they should? Do you think Sam will?"
