Following him, Claire forced herself to not panic at first. If Ben was asleep, they wouldn't find him easily because he wouldn't answer back. If he'd tucked himself away to avoid the noise, there was yet another reason he might not hear them. But the more they searched, the less likely either seemed.
When Dean turned that look on her, Claire had to force herself to at least seem like the calm one. Dean needed calm right now, not her freaking he hell out. "Just wait – did you check my house? Let's go check there."
Not waiting for Dean's answer, she pulled him behind her up the stairs into his room. From there, her closet and the rest of her house, which was thoroughly searched by them both before determining that Ben wasn't there. The panicky feelings Claire was experiencing increased exponentially and it was with a stressed silence that they returned to his house, to get to the garage and get the Impala.
Nearly out of the house, the door to John and Mary's bedroom ajar caught Claire's attention.
"Their door was shut earlier – I bet he's in there," she said, feeling some of the panic fade with the realization. Of course he had to be in there, because the alternative just wasn't going to fly.
