Though she was still worried about Dean, Claire focused on the answers Dean needed right now. "He knows," she said, the admittance an unhappy one.
"He heard John telling what happened, so he knows exactly what Sam's been doing. John stopped yelling when he realized Ben was there and explained Sam was sick, an addict, but that we're going to help him get better. He was –" she didn't quite smile, as she couldn't seem to muster that for anything, but there was an appreciative note in what she said, "he did pretty good with making up for the way Ben heard. Ben stayed here awhile," she continued, gesturing to the bed, "then I took him upstairs and got him ice cream and a movie, so he was distracted and out of earshot when Sam woke up."
She hadn't wanted to leave Dean here by himself, but Ben had needed a distraction away from staring at Dean until he woke up, as well as the Sam issue.
