She watched Eliot focusing on his shot. Stayed silent while he took it. And it went right in. Dammit. "It's considered bad form for a Slayer to accept payment for what she does. It's just an unspoken rule. So even if they offered...I can't really..." Trailing off, she just shrugged. "Life would be too easy that way, you know? I have to suffer for my cause."
Sam. What could you say about Sam? "General assery is in full effect, yea." She couldn't help but wonder what Faith would end up doing. Would she go back to him? Part of Buffy thought Faith should stay far away from him. But the other part knew how unlikely that was. Logic was out of town.
"Yea, you could tell me to shut it, but who say's that I'd listen?" The subtle smile at the corners of her mouth didn't give her away with a grin.
As he told her three quick facts about her, she wondered how vital they were to him - entire life-story. Were these tidbits evidence of a small trust forming, or a testament to how little he'd like to tell her? It was confusing. They were moving around the 'green', taking their shots. There was a windmill to beat, and then a bridge over a shallow pool of water.
"I hate guns, too. Not my style." She pulled out some gum from her pocket, putting a piece in her mouth and offering him one. "I didn't think you were lying about your name, you know." Why would he think she'd think that? "Did you have to clarify that because you lied about something else?" She wasn't being accusatory, just asking him. Then she blew a bubble and it popped over her lips.
