"Anything can happen, but there's always the most favored options to bet on. Like me winning and covering our pizza in pineapple pieces." She did have strange tastes in pizza - she liked the Hawaiian toppings. Ever the adventurous eater. Except when it came to stuff like tofu.
She snorted, on purpose, as the ball clunked against the polar bear's nose. "Geez, animal abuse. I need to call - well, the people. Animal people. They're against this kind of stuff," she gave an expert nod. But he did succeed, then. They both made their way to the second part of hole.
"Hmm...interesting things happening on my end." She considered that as she lined up her next shot. The ball needed to go in a diagonal direction. "Well...my super fun alter got herself kidnapped and by default I ended up being tortured by idiotic vampires. That was kinda not fun." Understatement. She sunk her ball in her easy swing. "Yes!" She gave a pleased smile as she twirled her club. "Don't be sad, I was always good at the shots like this." Still, was there a law against being smug? Hope not!
As Eliot prepared to take her shot, she tried to think of what else had been going on. It wasn't top secret or anything. "Uh...well, I'm still working, teaching self-defense at the community center. I take too many 'sick' days though, so they might can me." Buffy didn't sound all that concerned, although it was true she didn't like the idea of being fired and having to find another part-time job that she wouldn't hate. Her philosophy on work was, in a word 'suckage'.
"Faith was turned into a vampire but she's all back to herself now. Well, mostly. She's kinda having problems with a boy." This wasn't a confidential topic, but it was girl-code that kept her from revealing any other details on that. Thinking of Sam, Buffy instinctively crossed her arms.
"I think there's merit to a lot of those 'love sucks' songs." Personal experience told her that it could. But she wasn't going to muck around in the memories of her and Angel right now. Or her and Riley. "Even the low-key stuff that is supposed to be easy never is. And...there's less...well, it seems almost pointless to invest in the 'easy' stuff because the payoff is not really ever going to be that great." What was that about not going to think about her past?
"I guess I like the idea of people being happy and in love. I haven't really done the relationship thing for a while, so it's been easy for me to encourage the people who are." Like Anya and Xander. "Or to encourage people who aren't part of couples- to jump into one." This was a pointed comment she made to him, the subtext hopefully explaining why she'd pushed Claire on him. Well, plus the aid of alcohol.
The one thing she wasn't discussing, or thinking about, was the stuff Spike had told her, and Xander had confirmed. No need for a tail spin.
"And once again, I'm rambling too much while you're being all silent and mysterious. You give good mystery-vibe, it's true. But..." a helpless shrugged followed.
