It wasn't until he'd gotten to the floor the office was on that Eliot hesitated. After the past few weeks, the Senior Partners playing the switch game with the general population, and suddenly having Nate text him out of the blue, suspicion kicked in. It seemed like he'd seen something on the boards about the situation coming to an end but it was better walking in aware, just in case.
He caught the end of Nathan's mutterings as he pushed open the door, giving the former insurance investigator a look. "Maybe you should start thinking up some hiring guidelines," he replied, dropping his helmet on a nearby chair and helping himself to a glass and the bottle. It was five o'clock somewhere.
Sitting down in front of the desk, he took a drink, eyeing Nate over the glass thoughtfully.
