"Alternate universe switcheros?" A pause was taken. "I think...well, I'm pretty sure that yea, yes. That happened." When Faith unlocked the clasp on Buffy's chains, unwinding them and letting them fall down, it felt supremely odd to suddenly weigh about ten lbs lighter. The vampires had not wanted to take any chances with Buffy, so afraid that a Slayer could break free of anything - so they'd been excessive in precautions.
Buffy teetered on her feet with lightheadedness, finally relieved of the burden of not being able to move in full motion. Her arms were riddled with different sets of fang bites, causing splotchy purple bruises to form around the indentations that had crusted over with dried blood. Her hatred for vampires was amped up to an all-time high in this moment because of how they'd treated her. Not that she was expecting the five-star treatment. It was odd the way a vampire Slayer could continually be surprised by the sadistic nature of demons and assorted creatures.
Faith had mentioned her vamp self. A recollection of what felt like years ago suddenly clicked into place. "I - I was going to...capture her, you, the non-you...but I didn't get a chance." There was no way she was going to tell Faith what her plan had actually been. No need to be told she was an idiot. But the truth was that Buffy would do whatever it took to save someone, especially Faith. And Faith had proved the same tonight. So - pot, kettle - everyone's black.
Curiously, Buffy wondered if Faith felt weird about having a vampire version having been here. If she wanted to know what she was like. If she wondered...anything. Knowing the place Buffy had found herself in, she wasn't keen on asking questions on the Buffy that had exchanged places with her. She felt bad for the girl. While Buffy had thought she'd had it tough in making cookies for a bakesale, she knew it was nothing compared to what this world had to offer. Even if some of the baked goods considered 'edible' were questionable.
"Super blood?" It took her a moment to realize what Faith meant. Claire's blood. "But - only if it doesn't hurt her. Because I can...you know we heal. A couple of days and I'll be fine either way."
Despite the nagging pains, Buffy was in a weirdly good mood. It had something to do with interacting with Faith, and Spike - maybe, too. The sense of family, of teamwork - the things she'd been missing. Of knowing who'd always have your back. Of being constantly surprised at how far people will go. It was just...nice.
"I have a wicked craving for Spaghetti-o's. Cold, and with like...Diet Sprite. And maybe Butter Pecan ice cream."
