"We ain't no Mexican's" scowled Gus, who was having no problem talking with breathing not an issue. Of course, his head coming off would be a pretty big problem. To say the least! "Bitch!" Of course, he was the one trying to double cross her, but he was evil, he was 'sposed to!
"You letting that hair color leak into your brain now?" asked one of the gang who hadn't spoken yet, but he seemed more in control of himself and more serious than Gus. "Think we care if you off Gus? With him outta the way, that clears the room for me. And sorry buddy, but I'm sick of you."
"Aww - Charlie, how can ya's do me like this?" Gus complained. "What about that time I gave you that teenage boy to feast on out of the kindness of my heart?"
"His blood was sour, what can I say? I'm not open to bribery."
Buffy was feeling the adrenaline of the moment helping her and decided that she couldn't just stand around like a pawn. She had decent mobility for her legs and that was about all. Angling her neck up and tilting it back - praying to God the vampire's reflexes would be just a little slower than her own Slayer ones, she jammed the heel of her foot into the vamp's instep and this caused him to be startled. He was startled just enough (thinking he was already holding what was good as a corpse) that Buffy had time to swivel her body out of the hold he had on her and step away. The knife had cut at her neck in the process - but it wasn't bad. It could have been a lot worse. And it wasn't a gushing wound, so she wouldn't be bleeding to death anytime soon.
Of course, now she was standing three feet away from an angry vampire, and her arms were bound to her body. It wasn't the best position to be in.
"Faith, pop 'em!" Buffy called out, not sure what Faith was planning to do. But Buffy wanted that bastard dust. Even for a vampire, he was psychotic.
Gus was talking to Faith. "Now baby, you know you don't wanna hurt me..."
