Sam nodded. "Yeah, she talks about it. She's not exactly proud of what she did, you know. Won't admit to it being horrible, but I can tell. She knows that it was a mistake."
He looked down at his hands. Ah, the time old question. Why DID he trust Ruby? "I trust her for a lot of reasons. She's..." Sam looked up at her, shrugging. "I've had some hard times in my life. And she's been there for me when no one else was. Ruby might be a demon. She might be rude and abrasive and all kinds of things that'll make you want to sock it to her a few good times, but she does, underneath all of that, have a heart, you know? She cares about stuff."
Leaning back in place, Sam looked over her quietly and scratched at his neck. "What were you doing before you came here?"
