"I can believe how much you're going to try," Spike shot back, smirking. He really was not all that cheerful about having to take on Faith. Any version. However, unlike the giant staring off at the scene in shock behind her, Spike understood exactly what had to be done. This vampire was in no way what this city needed and while it most certainly was not his job to protect anyone here, Spike felt a certain obligation in this particular situation. It was Faith. He liked Faith, sort of. He understood the way she would have viewed this situation: vampire running around the city with her face? Oh, the bitch was dead. There was no doubt about that.
"C'mon," Spike taunted, "show me what sweet, little, old Angelus taught you."
She probably had learned quite a bit from the bastard. Thing was, Spike had spent longer with Angelus than Faith could ever come close to. Angelus had taught him more.
He took a swing at her head, ready for any and all of the retaliation that he knew was to come.
