"Not like that," he responded, staring out at the road. Sam had considered immortality before, without a doubt. Back at home, there had been a doctor who had managed to do as much to himself by replacing his body parts with others to keep himself from death. New parts kept him alive. The others died out just as a normal human would. He had tried to look for the proper way to get the work done to save Dean from Hell, but instead they ended up burying the doctor alive. Dean didn't want to live out his life if it was going to be in the form of a monster. Sam hated the decision at the time, but he understood it well enough.
Sam appeared to be displeased by their current conversation. That seemed to be a running theme for them tonight. "I'm not interested in becoming a vampire. Might as well put the brakes on and stop there."
