It was increasingly clear to him that he was going to have to settle down here for awhile. Even if he didn't know most of the people in this hotel, they seemed to know him, or at least, some version of him. Versions of people weren't anything new. Peter had one from the future, as did Hiro, and apparently so did he if what Peter had said when he'd returned from the future himself could be trusted, not that he was exactly in his right mind at the time. But still, he was adjusting as best that he could. It wasn't as bad place. It was just a lot different from his own apartment in New York.
Not to mention, he wasn't really sure if he could manage the sort of practice here that he used to get back home. Ascribing to the use it or lose it motto wasn't exactly an easy thing when he had several different things in his head that needed to be exercised, but at least the first (or rather second) one that he'd inherited from his father was simple enough.
Sitting back in the lobby, heads behind his head and lulling on the couch, Gabriel watched several objects scattered around the lobby idly before directing them to pick themselves up and put themselves back where they belonged. The more items that he had to control, the more his control faltered, but you couldn't get anywhere just by playing it safe.
