With Ben's 'horse' on the property, Mary wasn't too worried about the puppy messing up her plantings. Jack might be a young puppy, but he was as clumbsy in any situation as a bull in a china shop, and he was just going to get bigger and more bulky. Next time, she promised herself, they'd get a cute little dog who was less inclined (and less able) to chew holes in things.
