"You don't need me, Eve. You were your own woman, even as a child of the Senior Partners, before I met you." His scowl deepened as he turned back to the window. "I had plans to use you to get what I needed and then lose you. I realized pretty quick you weren't some homegrown liason. There's more to you than what you think the Partners created you for."
His voice was slowly rising in volume and he stopped, staring down at the carpet between his feet for a moment. "But you're right. You're not me. I'm not gonna tell you what to do. That's up for you to decide," he stated as he looked up at her.
"So the Senior Partners are flexing muscle with this whole alternate universe thing. Do they plan on putting the toys back where they belong or do they just like to see the white hats panic?"
