She liked it when he went on these little rants, they had happened so often and ususally involved screwing over the partners or just how completely stupid Angel was to ever take the reigns at the firm. She knew he missed it, missed these conversations with her, being here, planning, ranting. His actress could never measure up to that.
"I think they sort of approved of the betrayal. Not enough not to make us suffer for it of course but the idea that we would. The idea that we were smart enough to turn it around on them. We were damn impressive weren't we. Made a good team"
And he wanted to be a big player. She knew that already.
"...You could be you know. There doesn't have to be that difference and it doesn't need to take you away from what you are. You're smart enough Lindsey, one of the smartest people I know"
She turned so she was closer to him, not touching, not yet, but just closer, Gods she missed that closeness. Missed just being around him when he got like this. And she knew she could give him what he wanted, knew it so completely.
"You're not happy Lindsey. Not really. You're caged and I hate seeing it. So tell me, why what you want and what you need can't be the same"
