If someone had told Sarah that meeting her was like meeting a rockstar, she likely would have had a good laugh despite everything being so dire, simply because she thought of herself about as far from that as one could get.
"Hi, Buffy," she said to the other girl, tucking back another regret that meeting came second to what they were here for, then tossed a smile back at Anya as she moved to sit as well. Not her best, but it was there. Pulling a book to her, she let the talk of the two go on in front of her without contribution, at least until Anya brought up Sam and the thing that worried Sarah most – his dangerous thinking. It was one thing to hold those more extreme opinions – she was certain others in the Winchester clan did – but Sam took it to an outrageous degree in which there was no compromise and no way but his way.
"I think he's been rather clear about exactly what he'd do if he saw any of us as threats," she said with a little growl, flipping through a book, but still with purpose as she paused on several pages while doing so.
"But he's always been like that. I thought he'd gotten better, what with ceasing the constant death threats to people and having a demon friend, but maybe it was all a ruse." That was what needled at her. Ruby manipulating him would be an easy solution to the problem – perhaps not to solve it, but to answer all their questions and to show there was more at play here. If Sam had simply been biding his time all along – well, then yes, the psychological aspects would have to come out.
"Figures we have people from everywhere, but never any good therapists," she said as she pulled out her phone and texted the boys to bring research drinks and snacks. They liked helping out, so Sarah liked giving them things to do, even relatively innocuous tasks like that.
