Startled, Buffy sat up. "Hey, Sarah." Here she was, a childhood icon, in person! It was like seeing a rockstar.
"Sam might wanna protect little goblin Ruby, and then hate us forever because that's..." A shrug. "Well, in his giant shoes, that's what I'd do. You know? Get my major hate on." Another shrug, Buffy offered the bag of cheese popcorn Sarah's way. "I think it's the slow, painful, tedious way for us. Even with magic helping us. And I'm just here for the moral support. I don't really do magic. Or know about it too much. And my research skills are lacking... But..." She hated herself for shrugging once again, resigned not to do it again.
"What we need is to...break the connection between Ruby and Sam. Which, if it isn't a magical bond, sounds kind of heinously mean to do to friends. But Ruby seems toxic, and everyone wouldn't be jumping to that particular conclusion if there wasn't some sort of truth there. Something is off about her. She gives bad vibe."
Tucking a leg under her, she picked at some crumbs on the table. "If Sam is willingly following Ruby - anyone know what we do then? I mean, is it even our place to do anything? I know we will go against Sam if he tries to harm innocents. But as far as messing with their friendship..." She couldn't help it, she shrugged again. "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it stop drinking the bad kool aid." A pause. "And now I'm thirsty."
