They instantly went to work once Roy brought the kid over, but there wasn't much they could do for that kind of poisoning. They couldn't flush it. It wasn't that sort of poison, it wasn't that easy. It was inside his bloodstream and with his meta-human genes regular medications weren't going to work. Virgil was just happy to not be able to over hear them saying they might not be able to do anything. He was already panicking enough. And with the amount of pain he was in it was surprising he hadn't been panicking more.
Doctors worked to get Virgil hooked up to heart monitors and life support. Even breathing tubes in attempt to force air into his chest that was closing up rapidly on them. For half a minute he'd stopped breathing completely. The monitor flat lined, and his skin looked a sickly pale. The doctors started shock treatment and his vitals came back and blipped to life. Virgil barely opened his eyes. He was obviously strong, but his body was starting to convulse and seizure. Virgil could make out voices, but they were hard to hear. Mostly white noise. All kinds of scrambled..Like he was hearing it under water. Then darkness again. But he wasn't alone in the darkness, not this time. He could see his mom, and it dulled the fear. Dulled some of the pain.
