Virgil knew he should have paid more attention in science class. It was one of the few classes that'd ever really mattered outside of school. If he had he would have known when the sunspot cycles were going to start and would have had a heads up. Nobody knew when they stopped. But almost every summer they started right on time, Virgil didn't even realize they already had. His first clue should have been during dinner almost a week ago the lights started flickering and everything infront of him started floating like it was possessed. He thought it was just the circuit breakers at first. But it wasn't, it was him. When he left the room, everything went back to normal. Now was no different
Static left the Bradbury building and the place shut down. Went back to it's normal level and Virgil still had power. Too much. He couldn't control it. If he didn't get out of there fast, someone was gonna get hurt. Now they had a kid living there, he couldn't risk it. Wouldn't. Pulling out his flying disk it circled him at least three times before finally coming to a stop low enough for him to jump on. It took off and he had to cling to it on his knees. Gloved hands gripping tightly. "Woah!" When was this gonna end?! "Maybe he should have thought it through before flying away with super charged powers!
The disk flew high and out of control towards the ocean. "I better get frequent flier miles for this!" Static complained as he held on for dear life and a trail of electricity followed behind him. But at least he was heading where he needed to go, toward the ocean. Finally the disk jerked to a stop, Virgil barely held on. Once he knew it was stable enough he stood and stretched his arms out. Electricity poured from him, the surface of the water bubbled as it was struck and disturbed. He had to get rid of this power. It felt like he was chewing on a live wire. Faster and faster the energy poured from gloved fingertips. He just hoped people were wise enough to stay away, he couldn't control which direction th e bolts and steady streams of lighting shot off in.
