He was starting to like it. Starting to enjoy it maybe, It was definitely a step in the right direction. Until he fell back onto the bed face buried in his hands.
"Thats just adjusting, this is more than you've taken before. Further than we've gone. Just lie there, sleep if you need to, trust me, its all okay."
Wrapping her arm in the bloody towel again Ruby stood. "I'll get you something to drink, water, maybe some headache pills if you think it'll help."
She moved across to the kitchen quickly retriving the things she needed for him, and hurrying back. He needed to know she was there when things were getting confusing and blurred, needed to know she was the one, the only one he could trust with all this.
"I have water" she told him, gently sliding a hand around to his shoulders and neck trying to coax him to a sitting position as he recovered, she'd give him an hour or two before they went again. Let the blood settle, let him decide when, let him want it.
