It looked, and felt like cheating. The sigils on the walls, a definite no admittance to angels, well to one, as well as various other protections straight from the Pit that Ruby had added to the motel room didn't help the feeling. But what could she do. Sam had to get stronger before the others worked out just why they spent so much time around each other and they both had relationships that could hopefully be salvaged once Sam had the power to make it happen.
It scared her sometimes the idea that she saw him as a friend, that she'd come to this place thinking of him as a means to an end albiat one she was growing fond of and now saw him as a friend, But that was okay. Its not like even if they got home anything would hurt him. No he'd be rewarded for what he would do. Beyond his wildest imagination, he wanted the Slayer, she was pretty sure he could have her.
As for what she herself wanted for her part. That, she suspected would be harder.
There was nothing else in the motel room save a few cheap beers in the refrigerator. It would just be them, and her knife. She removed it from her boot just as she heard the noise of the truck and the lights shining at the window for a moment before going off again, a door slam and a few steps later the knock came at the door.
It could be no one other than Sam. Not even Castiel knew where she was, hiding from him again, knowing he'd be hurt by it, it wasn't fun, she didn't enjoy it, but it was needed, she needed to do this. This was all something she just had to follow through with, stuck here or not. Some things superceeded all others, all other concerns, and this was most definitely one of them.
She opened the door with a soft smile, this body, it didn't look like the blonde it was known well he had liked blondes back then, she'd even met Jessica in this strange city, tested her with Sam to see if she was anything other than human, No she'd had to change her body, but she'd found this one softer, easier to trust, and she'd cut back on the snark. And he'd trusted her, and the stupid thing was...she'd begun to trust him.
"Come in" she told him, stepping back and closing and bolting the door almost as soon as he had done.
The knife glistened on the sideboard beside one of the two single beds and Ruby raised her eyes to meet Sam's.
