Who: Babs and Open
What: Retail Therapy
When: Sunday afternoon
Where: Best Buy
Warnings: None
"You can't buy expensive electronics every time some repressed memory comes calling." Babs muttered the words her best friend had once told her when she'd come home from Best Buy with five new Macs-- Macs that had been pointless to own, given that she used PCs for just about everything. Sitting now, in front of a long row of Dell, Gateway, and Sony laptop displays, Babs smiled contently and folder her arms across her chest. "Sorry, Dinah, but you're wrong. Expensive computers make everything better."
After all, it meant she wasn't thinking about the thing they had sitting in that cell and what he'd done to her. The computer section of the store was on the other side of the building entirely from the large collection of digital cameras and camcorders that could possibly spur any of the memories that had been slowly resurfacing over the past week. The final straw had been at work earlier in the public library when she'd pulled an eskrima stick on a fellow librarian who'd only attempted to wake her from an accidental nap.
She'd left the public library as quickly as possible after that. Not thinking, Babs had driven straight towards the closest Best Buy. Retail therapy was the best cure.
