Mary wandered over to the birthday boy and Claire, smiling at how adorable the two of them looked. The puppy only added to the scene. Though she was a little wary of how big the beast would one day grow to be, seeing Ben's excitement today made it all worth it. She could deal with a little puppy damage to the furniture until they got Jack trained, and she knew it would do Ben good to experience training a dog. She had always thought by the time Dean and Sam got a little older, she and John would get them a family dog so that they could learn a little bit about responsibility. Now the boys were grown, and plenty responsible, but it was a lesson she figured Ben could still learn.
She wasn't even surprised at the name that the boy chose for the Mastiff. He was so much like his father she wouldn't have been surprised if he wanted to name the dog after some risque magazine...but she was much happier with 'Jack" than "Playboy," so she was thankful for that.
"Hi, you two." She said, flopping down next to them. "Have they decided how they're going to do the fireworks yet?"
