Jack was tired. He'd been studying almost non stop for his upcoming field test and it was starting to show. The red ranger wasn't too sure about accompanying this Buffy on her patrols yet-but he needed to see how she worked. He was so used to patrolling with the last version, it needed to be remedied. The loss of the last Buffy still wore a little on him, the girl was practically his best friend. Weathering two (or maybe three) apocalypses-he'd lost count was good for bringing people together. This one was still green around the edges. But that didn't mean he cared less. Buffy was Buffy. That meant he would always have her back. Now was no different.
Glancing only briefly at Jared he raised a brow and nodded. Tucking his hands into his red, black, and white sport coat pocket he followed casually. As if he were just out for middle of the night stroll. Totally normal wasn't it? Catching a glowing Jared out of the corner of his eyes he barely refrained from mocking that he'd make an amazing night light. Then he focused on Buffy and tilted his head with mild curiosity and a smirk. Buffy's official title may be Vampire Slayer, but later he'd make a note to crown her Banter Queen.
"Worthless human, that's original. "Taking Buffy's cue he used the distraction to slip into the shadows to the side the vampire and rolled his eyes as he emerged behind him, facing Buffy. Voice dripping with sarcasm. " I know I'm shaking now. What's next? Gonna call us insolent knaves maybe? Man. You need to brush up on Modern Day Insults 101." Jack said from the darkness, and pulled a stake into his hand from his coat.
