He didn't mind babysitting the body. The few times that they'd needed to see Ruby off to another, Sam didn't find much trouble in doing as much. It was better to watch this one than have to restrain an actual living being that had been trapped in another.
Sam tried to wipe some of the blood from his body as they walked, using his already dirtied jacket to get the job done. His face was mostly cleared up save for a few scratches, so at least if anyone saw them he'd look semi-decent. Less concerning. Tossing the jacket over his shoulder, Sam followed Ruby into the front room. He instantly tensed when he saw her approach the childs basket. She was close. Much as he trusted Ruby, the concept of demons and babies interacting didn't sit well with him. There wasn't much about this situation that did.
"Right," he said through clenched teeth, shifting past her to retrieve the child. He looked terribly awkward, holding that small baby in his large arms, and for a long moment Sam looked down at it and said nothing. Just a kid. It brought on an unpleasant sting in his chest anyway.
"Let's get him outta here," Sam muttered, avoiding eye contact with the demon before him as he stalked past.
