She was still theorising, following Sam stepping over the vampire, and ready to climb down when she spoke, wanting to know what he was. And of course Ruby had an answer. She knew exactly what Sam was, but it was nothing he'd like to hear. Nothing he'd understand, not yet.
So she settled for another comforting hand on his shoulder before he started to climb down the ladder and a prideful smirk to the vampire once he was down, The vampire would never know who had ended her, never know just how special he was, how important. But she'd know that he was something.
